Scotland Experience

Arriving in Edinburgh, Scotland I had literally no idea what to expect. My sister planned the trip and I was worried that I might be disappointed. The only image I could really think of was a bunch of old guys walking around in kilts. As this turned out to be somewhat true, I was absolutely shocked with the kindness of the locals. Traveling abroad I always want to try my hardest to not seem like your typical American tourist. However, the people I met in Edinburgh were so kind to me and did not make me feel ashamed at all for being American. In fact, they even seemed to respect me more because we were able to get rid of the pesky British rule. One night, when my sister had gone on her own excursion, I was by myself in a pub and was approached by a couple local gals and asked if I wanted to join their booth. I'm rather extroverted, so I was ecstatic to interact with some people after being alone with my thoughts for the whole day. I ended up having one of the best nights of my life with complete strangers. We are all friends on facebook and I hope to reconnect with them not if but when I return to Edinburgh.
